The Full Story

Charline is no stranger to challenging seasons. As a teen, she became a single mother raising a son. It was a time in her life when she needed help but didn't have a resource like Clothed With Love to help her get through her difficult season. Eighteen years later she found herself in her youngest son's room, sorting through clothes and wondering who she could give them to... From there, Clothed With Love was born...

I remember when God gave me the vision, it was 2019, I remember sorting through my son's clothes to sell, and feeling something in me saying don’t sell the children’s clothing but bless others with what you have. By October 2020 I felt God prompting me to register the business name Clothed with Love. So, on Nov. 20th, 2020, I registered Clothed With Love.

Clothed with Love receives gently used, brand-new adult, youth, and children’s clothing, toys, and light household items and donates them to those experiencing a challenging season.

During this time, I started the prep work, requesting clothes from donors, printing business cards, etc. Little did I know that I would have to wait 3 years before He would release me to move forward. I prayed about how to reach those in need, I even reached out to organizations to partner with them but got shut down. I was disappointed, but most importantly I was confused. It wasn’t until late October 2023 that I approached my Pastor at Portico Milton and shared the vision of Clothed with Love. In that meeting we came up with the pop-up free store, knowing it would be a great way to serve the community. We did all the prep work, promoting this event and on Dec. 17th, 2023, Clothed with Love & Portico Milton had our first-ever Pop-Up free store.

We spoke to the families that came in that day, some sharing their stories, others overjoyed at this act of kindness, but on that day, we were able to be an answer to their prayers. Two of the families that came in grabbed what they needed and as they were leaving, hugged me and thanked us for doing this. One gentleman asked my husband “Why are you doing this,” to which my husband responded, just to show God’s love to others and the community.

I’m so humbled by all of this, to see God use us to bless others.

We have partnered with a few social organizations within Milton, that send their clients to the Freestore when we have our events. We hope to reach more people!

It’s your donations, and generosity that keeps us going! THANK YOU to all our donors and partners for seeing the vision and joining in to help our communities.
